{"id":197,"date":"2015-09-04T11:03:53","date_gmt":"2015-09-04T11:03:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hopetheparentteacher.com\/?page_id=197"},"modified":"2024-04-17T10:49:48","modified_gmt":"2024-04-17T10:49:48","slug":"mission-statement","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/hopetheparentteacher.com\/?page_id=197","title":{"rendered":"Mission Statement and Philosophy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Mission<\/strong>: To help both parents and children regardless of their age to work through their issues to gain greater freedom from emotional aguish if they are willing to listen, learn, and grow.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How:\u00a0<\/strong>I implement the mission through my writing,\u00a0 private musical instruction of the violin, piano, &amp; cello,\u00a0 physical education via swimming and through academic instruction\/tutoring of science, math, spelling, reading, writing, Spanish, religion, and history.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Philosophy<\/strong>: Learning and growth happen best within the framework of RFTLL Respect. Forgive. Be Thankful. Listen and Learn.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Respect<\/strong>. \u00a0Respect self, others, and authorities (even the ones you disagree with.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Forgive<\/strong>. \u00a0As humans we all need to be forgiven for something (probably daily). \u00a0It also is one of the highest gifts we can bestow upon another.\u00a0 \u00a0<em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">However,<\/span> it does not mean to forget and allow others to keep hurting us.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><em>It means setting healthy boundaries.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Be Thankful<\/strong>. \u00a0A grateful heart is a cheerful heart. \u00a0Expect and demand nothing. \u00a0But give thanks in all.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Listen and Learn<\/strong>: Put the phone down. \u00a0Focus. \u00a0Listen to who needs to be speaking. \u00a0And listen with a heart open to learn something new about the person, yourself, and situation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mission: To help both parents and children regardless of their age to work through their issues to gain greater freedom from emotional aguish if they are willing to listen, learn, and grow.
