{"id":1241,"date":"2020-06-17T13:39:02","date_gmt":"2020-06-17T13:39:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hopetheparentteacher.com\/?p=1241"},"modified":"2024-10-18T13:04:58","modified_gmt":"2024-10-18T13:04:58","slug":"uncertainty-has-always-been-the-reality","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hopetheparentteacher.com\/?p=1241","title":{"rendered":"Uncertainty Has Always Been the Reality"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I opened my email this morning to find an article from Child Mind Institute that address how to manage you and your child&#8217;s anxieties while reopening.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/childmind.org\/article\/managing-anxiety-during-reopening\/?utm_source=newsletter&#038;utm_medium=email&#038;utm_content=Dealing%20With%20Cyberbullying&#038;utm_campaign=Weekly-06-16-20\">https:\/\/childmind.org\/article\/managing-anxiety-during-reopening\/?utm_source=newsletter&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_content=Dealing%20With%20Cyberbullying&amp;utm_campaign=Weekly-06-16-20<\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cUncertainty is really uncomfortable,\u201d says Dr. Busman. \u201cUncertainty and this situation are not good friends, but they\u2019re forced to cohabitate.\u201d The impulse to try to force things to be more certain is strong but, she says, in the end it\u2019s a waste of energy. \u201cIt\u2019s very exhausting and ultimately, you\u2019re not going win.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Why is uncertainty uncomfortable?\u00a0 There have never been any guarantees.\u00a0 \u00a0But marketing in the 20th and 21st Centuries have subliminally taught otherwise.\u00a0 Likewise schools promise that if you do this and that you will secure a good job and become a success.\u00a0 See your healthcare provider regularly to secure good health and fix your ailments.\u00a0 Then many a motivational preacher positions Jesus as a comforting magician.\u00a0 They dole Him out like a box of chocolates or flowers while empowering you to be the god of your own life able to control and manage all that comes your way.<\/p>\n<p>The root of the majority of our anxieties is false teaching, control mongering role models, and misplaced faith.\u00a0 All three can be teased out to show how modern humans expend the bulk of their energies trying to control the future which has never been able to be tamed.<\/p>\n<p>I am forever grateful to a principle\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.harrietlerner.com\/books\">Harriet Lerner<\/a>\u00a0wrote about in her book,\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Dance of Connection.<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0Instead of trying to control the outcome of any situation mentally prepare that it may or may not happen.\u00a0 It&#8217;s quite empowering to view yourself as being able to survive and possibly thrive if something does or doesn&#8217;t happen.\u00a0 This was a key principle in helping to unlock the prison of expectations for perfect that enslaved my emotions and bogged me down in years of depression.\u00a0 It freed me to embrace scriptural principles of faith that I had been taught to utter with my lips, but to live completely apart from.<\/p>\n<p>Another helpful read\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/book\/show\/1167188.You_Are_What_You_Think\">You are What You Think by David Stoop, Ph.D.<\/a>\u00a0is one of the most highlighted, stared, and underlined book of mine that reiterates how powerful our expectations are. This is why marketing experts play them in each advertisement and sales pitch.\u00a0 In essence, it&#8217;s what churns the modern American Economy.\u00a0 \u00a0But, it also could be what has led all of our souls astray to wander about aimlessly in a wild unsafe world.<\/p>\n<p>At one point in my life I felt the need to travel away from a culture that is so obsessed with safety.\u00a0 I began to feel suffocated in the northeast coast of the United States.\u00a0 There was something refreshing about romping around in Latin America where there were no guarantees and lawyers waiting to be hired to sue anyone who may have failed you.\u00a0 But it was also incredibly dangerous.\u00a0 Rumors circulated about a couple on their honeymoon who were kidnapped while hiking a popular volcano. It is a fine line of balance that must be achieved of safety and risk.\u00a0 That&#8217;s why I included it in<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"lBCbGYKFgU\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/hopetheparentteacher.com\/?page_id=15\">Rojo, The Baby Red Panda At The Zoo<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; is having a tough time, there&#8217;s a tendency to ignore, deny, and cover it up.\u00a0 \u00a0It&#8217;s overwhelming to go back to find resolution, closure, and heal the wounds.\u00a0 Besides, that&#8217;s painful, difficult, and sometimes ugly.\u00a0 The war is over it&#8217;s time to eat drink and be merry for tomorrow we die.<\/p>\n<p>Consider the underlying philosophy in this attitude.\u00a0 It justifies hedonism because humans are just matter that cycles in an out.\u00a0 There&#8217;s no loving Creator who&#8217;s worthy to consult for wisdom or to bow to in adoration.\u00a0 It&#8217;s all an accident that just miraculously pulled together over billions of years.\u00a0 Or is it?<\/p>\n<p>I would like to propose that this COVID-19 situation is an opportunity to get your values and beliefs straightened out.\u00a0 But first you may have to find the courage to face your own pain that probably is generations deep,\u00a0 work through each personal grievance, and make many lifestyle changes.\u00a0 That&#8217;s all very overwhelming.\u00a0 There is one who wants to make that possible.\u00a0 But you must search for Him with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength and value the truth like a hidden treasure of which few know where to find.<\/p>\n<p>If I may suggest going back to the very beginning.\u00a0 I have found\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/torahclass.com\/seed-of-abraham-ministries\">Torahclass.com<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/notunderbondage.com\/?\">https:\/\/notunderbondage.com\/?<\/a> , and <a href=\"https:\/\/mysteryofiniquity.blog\/my-other-blog-a-cry-for-justice\/\">https:\/\/mysteryofiniquity.blog\/my-other-blog-a-cry-for-justice\/<\/a>to be useful in my personal search.\u00a0 May they be of help to you too.<\/p>\n<p>#Uncertaintimes #COVID-19 #Stress #Anxiety<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I opened my email this morning to find an article from Child Mind Institute that address how to manage you and your child&#8217;s anxieties while reopening. \u201cUncertainty is really uncomfortable,\u201d says Dr. Busman. \u201cUncertainty and this situation are not good friends, but they\u2019re forced to cohabitate.\u201d The impulse to try to force things to be &hellip;
